4-Straight L's

John Dabell

It has been a rough week at GESA stadium for the Dust Devils/Rooster Tails. Let's recap Tuesday-Friday games with a quick player of the game for both sides and a score.

On Coca-Cola Tuesday, the Dust Devils opened up the 6-game set against the Spokane Indians, a High-A Affiliate of the Colorado Rockies. The Dust Devils fell 9-3 in this one. PoG for the Indians goes to INF Bladimir Restituyo, who got the scoring started for his tribe in the 5th and was 3/5 in this contest. For the Dust Devils INF, Jose Guzman gets PoG after going 3/4.

Weenie Wednesday at the park on Wednesday. The Dust Devils couldn't put together a solid offensive outing in this one going down 5-2 against a stellar outing for the Indians bullpen; the pen earns PoG for five shutout innings. The Dust Devils PoG honors go to INF/OF Osmy Gregorio, who was 1/4 with the lone RBI in the contest.

The Dust Devils hosted breast cancer awareness night at the park on Thursday, which is always a fantastic theme night. Indians SP Andrew Quezada not only earns PoG honors for this side but also moved to 7-0 on the season after going 6IP, allowing 3ER, 1BB, and getting 6K. The Indians were able to take game 3 of the series 6-3. PoG honors go to C/DH Straton Podaras for the Dust Devils as he chased Quezada from the game in the 7th with a solo HR.

Friday night was a fun Beach Bag giveaway at the park, as I could attend this game with my kids and a great group from the church I attend. I wasn't as invested in this game as usual for a couple of reasons- the heat and the people I was with were a ton of fun. It was also the return of the Columbia River Rooster Tails' identity. The Rooster Trails got out to an early 3-0 lead after the second, but the game was tired by the end of the 4th 3-3. However, the Indians pitching didn't surrender a run again after the 2nd to help the club continue to push until PoG for the Indians Warming Bernabel scored the go-ahead run in the 6th. PoG honors for the Rooster Tails go to INF Kyren Paris for getting the offense started in the 1st with an RBI Double. The Rooster Tails dropped game-4 of the set 4-3.

Friday night also came with some roster moves before the game- if you want to check that out, click here: https://www.theballboyblog.com/post/from-the-draft-to-tri-city
