It was a super fun week at GESA Stadium packed with fun, promotions, limited edition jerseys, and much more! I was able to attend 3-games this week against the Everett Aquasox, a High-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners(winners of 14 straight). The AquaSox features a mix of organization top-30 prospects: #1 SS Noelvi Marte, #7 OF Alberto Rodriguez, #9 LHP Adam Macko(IL), #21 RHP Bryce Miller, #24 OF Victor Labrada, #28 RHP Prelander Berroa. Starting on Coco-Cola Tuesday, the Dust Devils were outmatched 1-0 behind Aquasox SP Berroa, who went 5IP, allowing 1H, 2BB, and 7K. The Dust Devils were held to two hits in the contest. The lone run was off a Labrada RBI Triple.
Weenie Wednesday is always a delicious night at the ballpark with the delicious Pendelton Hotdogs. The Dust Devils were led by RHP Landon Marceaux on the hill, going 7IP, 5H, 1Er, and 4K. The Dust Devils went off for 7R in the 6th. Gregorio, Knowles, Nay(2), Peabody, Yon, and Guzman each contributed to the 7-1 win. Marte pushed the one run across for Everett.
$21 an out night on Thursday was fun for fans as each out allowed fans a chance to win $21. RHP Robinson Pina didn't have his best stuff in this one as he only went 4IP, allowed 4R, 3ER while getting 9K. The offense sputtered in this one to a team total of 18K. Aqausox RHP Jimmy Joyce went 5.2IP, got 17outs, and 13 came via the strikeout. The Aquasox offense was led by Marte, who had an HR and 2 RBI singles. The Dust Devils' scoring came from Knowles and Peabody. The Aquasox were able to get a 6-2 win.

The FIRST EVER Marvel Defenders of the Diamond night came on Friday. The Dust Devils donned Captain America-inspired jerseys that are currently for auction online. The Aquasox got a strong outing from SP Juan Mercedes, who went 6IP, allowing 4H, 1ER, 3BB, and 3K. The Dust Devils lost this game 4-1, with their lone run coming from a Jose Guzman RBI double in the 5th. The Aquasox 3RBI night from Mike Salvatore to help secure the win.
FIREWORKS! Saturday night brought fireworks to GESA Stadium on a gorgeous yet HOT Saturday night at the ballpark. I could enjoy the 11-inning game with my daughters before the fireworks, which was great. Aquasox SP Miller held the offense to 0ER through 6IP with 3H, 10K. Ryan Costeiu got the nod and posted 5IP with 2ER, 2BB, and 5K to keep the Dust Devils close. The two sides took a 2-2 game into the 10th, and the Aqua Sox were able to get a 3-2 lead from C Andy Thomas; however, OF D'Shawn Knowles matched in the 10th with an RBI single. OF Mike Wilson, featured on the blog, recently delivered the in-game fireworks with a DEEP RBI double to LF to earn the Dust Devils a WALK-OFF WIN!
Sunday night, Salute to Seniors night was a smaller crowd on 1,628 compared to the packed houses on Friday and Saturday night. Oldies music, the Alzheimer's Association, and Active4You were all at the park on Sunday night as the seniors were celebrated. LHP Brent Killam, in his second start with the Dust Devils, had his secondary stuff working as he went 5IP, allowing 2H, 1ER, 2BB, and 7K in the contest. Berroa was the opposition against the Dust Devils as his secondary stuff wasn't as sharp as he threw a lot of balls and was all over the zone. The Aquasox got the win late in this one off a fielding error by 2B Guzman, who lost a ball in the lights in the 9th to allow 2R to score to seal the win for the Aquasox 3-1.
The Dust Devils are off for the All-Star break, return for a weekend series at Hillsboro against the Hops for three games, and then return home for a 6-game set against the Spokane Indians. That week looks fun for fans: Coco-Cola Tuesday, Weenie Wednesday, Breast Cancer Awareness, Beach Bag Giveaway, Post-Game Fireworks, and the return of the Columbia River Rooster Tails.
